I wondered if we could make a new main section of the homepage like a bullitin board, I would be happy to maintain it, if nobody else wanted to. If not, what we've got works fine.
Bulletin of what? There's a news section and now a ongoing event section, what else is left? As long as it is not a duplicate of what is there and it is maintained, I don't care really.
Don't make new categories unless there is something missing. Too many are counterproductive and make it very difficult to search the wiki.
At the bottom of the page, type in a category name and if it exists then it will drop down the correct spelling for it. If one does not exist, you need to go to that category page and create it kinda like a regular page. If it is a small topic, just add a little something about what it is.
Always make sure pages and category pages are in the "Browse" category if nothing else. If you add a bunch of random categories, I will rage like no one has seen rage before LOL. I've had to clean them up 2x in one month already.
I made you an admin so you won't have permission issues again. It should have never happened in the 1st place.
http://dragonsofatlantis.wikia.com/wiki/Items?redirect=no the "?redirect=no" makes it where it will not redirect you. You can get to this at the very top of the page, it says "Redirected from ?? page" click the link to be taken to the original.
Comments are still there, just don't add those items to that redirect page, add them to the new pages. To see all the different ones, click the "Items" category page... I'm going to make all the items their own page, it just takes a lot of time I don't have right now.
I'm trying to add lvl 12 stats to the Fire dragon page (and a couple of others too), but it won't allow me to edit that section. What am I doing wrong?
It is not that it won't allow you to edit it, but you have to access the tabs from the source code because it is a template. Other than switching to the code screen (little tab thing at the top of the page) it is basically the same as editing on normal view as long as you can read it.
The little green puzzle piece on the normal view is the tabber template, if you roll over it with your mouse... just can't edit it like that. Go to code screen>scroll down to where it says stats (its at a very long list of tables, last 1 I think)>Fill in the blank cells.
Right-click and open in a new tab/window to see the image larger... this is an example of how to edit tables in the code screen. If you don't understand or don't want to mess with it, just post the stats here and I'll add them later.
You had mentioned that you had some information you wanted to compile about working with code and whatnot on here. I'd be happy to gather it together, make it look pretty, and put it somewhere where you can direct noobs (like myself).
I've already made the code page, I'm going to add more to it later, but the basics are all there. If you can identify those things, then you can pretty much figure anything out from the source screen because it is exactly the same as visual after that.
I haven't added it to the homepage because that is about to change later tonight anyway, so I'm waiting to add things to it. Editing_Code/Markup is the page if you want to look. Don't expand the boxes or else it removes the formatting... IDK why.
You can add to it if you have some stuff to add, I'm just saying don't expand the boxes because it loses the formatting, which is what it is SUPPOSED to be showing thing it has something to do with it being in a table. Don't expand them in the view... not in editing, like the little arrow to make it larger you know?
The entire pages were moved to category pages. This way all of the pages in that category are listed at the bottom of the pages and things don't have to be typed twice (and updated twice when they change). If we could keep some type of consistency through the pages it wouldn't matter, but people refuse to keep anything in any sort of specific layout for pages and things. Sorry!
I'm going to be changing the home page though. Everything is going to categories so that I can add all the pages to the top navigation bar and home page. I can't do that with each individual page.
Which page are you talking about? Category pages are much easier to search (manually or with search bar) than the way they were before. Having a full list of all pages at the bottom is much easier than having random links scattered throughout the page.
i sent a message today about trading our curses in for items that cost less than 9 rubies (mass null.., fort..tickets, speed-ups,some elite items for elite troops ect.) stockpiling curses is a waste of rubies & they should survey all players to understand if this is what the majority wants. how does everyone reading this feel about this topic?
You posted this on my personal wall, so I don't know how many people other than me will see this. But this has been requested so many times over the years, and ignored so many times... I wouldn't count on it happening. Kabam games are the most expensive of any I have ever played for a reason.
i' ve made contact with soneone on the inside helping we with suport and they have drought this matter to the table before and he said he doesn't see it happening just as you told me so, nothing changed on this matter sence you've played the game and i guess nothing will.
are there any topic's you would like anyone to take an intrest in and possibly bring to the editor(yourself) for approval unless you would rather us not to message you on your personal wall , maybe you could give me directions as to how you like things done according your professional requirements before delivering a fact an opinion or a promise on Wikia
I'm not sure what you are asking me, but I do not represent Wikia. If you want to edit pages, please do. Don't add things that are not fact though... keep pages consistent and do NOT create new categories <---- this is #1 priority. I'm trying to make things easier to find and have had to delete random category pages 2x in one month.
I'll switch... when you think of hot places, you don't think about here. But it gets hotter here than in Arizona because of HUMIDITY D: And there are lots of bugs...
